Green Beans is a Side Dish in Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!!.

Description[edit | edit source]

Green beans originated in Peru and spread throughout the Americas via migrating tribes of natives, and then to Europe and eventually the rest of the world by Spanish explorers returning from "the new world." These explorers, excited by the prospects of these new plants, had developed calluses on their knees as a direct result of repeatedly planting and harvesting green beans to perfect the process of growing the plant so they could show them off to the old world.

Upon returning and demonstrating for the rest of the world how to properly plant, care for, and harvest green beans, the explorers were unable to escape the ridicule that came with their oddly strong-skinned knees. This trait in bean farmers would eventually be nicknamed "the beans knees," and through a series of misunderstandings, the phrase eventually morphed into the modern day phrase "the bee's knees," which is often used to refer to something exciting, not unlike discovering green beans.
